Supporting mental health
in the community.

CREATIVE VOCATIONAL AND EMPLOYABILITY TRAINING AND SUPPORT WITHIN A WORKING STUDIO ENVIRONMENT
Double Click Design & Print CIC – just Doubleclick to our friends – is a studio with a conscience. Our unique, not-for–profit social firm blends a commercial graphic design agency with creative vocational and employability training made available (via referral) to members of the local community who are in mental health recovery.
Our training is designed to develop skills that will help individuals to get back into work, return to education, start a business, retain existing employment or to gain the confidence to enable them to move forward. Examples of areas we offer training in are:
- VOCATIONAL GRAPHIC DESIGN
- WEBSITE DESIGN AND MAINTENANCE
- PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHOTO EDITING
- MERCHANDISE DESIGN
- VIDEOGRAPHY AND VIDEO EDITING
- CREATIVE WRITING
- STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS
- EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

While training is mostly computer-based (some of the platforms we use are shown above), we also offer supplementary training and support, including regular photography and writing groups, as well as talks and workshops, visits and wellbeing events. Doubleclick owns its own 100% electric 9-seater minibus, generously funded by the Postcode Lottery Community Fund, which enables us to explore further afield than would otherwise be possible.
Our computer facilities are split between Mac and PC, and we also offer a variety of high-end print equipment, including commercial laser printers, an A2 artist printer, sublimation printer and merchandise presses, as well as photographic and video equipment.
Our studio, The Lodge, an attractive annexe at Deeside Enterprise Centre in Shotton, once a school science block, is a bright and welcoming open-plan space.
Our team is a unique mix of highly experienced graphic designers who work with or alongside alongside our trainees, all within a calm and nurturing environment. We are welcoming, inclusive and non-judgemental, and uphold trust, confidentiality and respect at all times; we are also Disability Confident Committed and an Ecologi Climate Positive Workforce.
Our trainees are members of the local community who have a creative interest or skill who come to us via referral from Flintshire Social Services mental health teams.
If you have a creative skill or interest and have been receiving mental health support, then you may be eligible. Please note that places are limited.
If you are eligible to attend Doubleclick you will be invited to meet our team along with a support worker. This will be a short, informal chat about which of our subject areas from the list shown you are interested in, what you would like to achieve and what the desired outcomes will be. If everyone are happy, then an agreed Training Plan will be created which will run for ten weeks. After this time, if we are all happy that you are getting the most from your time with us, then your training will become ongoing, reviewed at regular intervals, and will expand the training available to you.
Attendance is generally one full day of 5 hours or half day of 2.5 hours per week, and you will be obliged to attend; we will also provide you with the tools to continue your training at home via our website and remote support, which we advise you to do. When your time with us is coming an end, we will help you to take the next step, be that helping create a CV and build a portfolio to help find paid employment, advise on how you can go into business for yourself, or help you find a suitable college course or local voluntary work.
To enquire whether you fulfil the criteria needed to use our services, in the first instance please speak to your Flintshire County Council support worker or care co-ordinator.
